Vienna – Berlin – Popkomm

The summer season is slowly coming to an end, but there are some exciting things coming up in September! Our Danish band Sleep Party People will visit Vienna and present their album at B72 on Monday, September 5th. As a little extra treat, we will spin some records before and after the show for you.

Furthermore, the whole Siluh family moves to Berlin during the annual Popkomm and Berlin Music Week. Again, the restless Sleep Party People will put on their bunny-masks and enchant the crowds at the Nordic by Nature Showcase at Magnet ClubWednesday, Sept. 7th.

And finally, since it’s Popkomm, Berlin Music Week and we’re looking for an excuse to get wasted with our German pals we pretend to be part of the business and are hosting a label night at most charming Schokoladen – Thursday, Sept. 8th (starting at 7pm sharp!!!) – featuring Gary, Killed by 9V Batteries and Luise Pop.

Killed by 9V Batteries – Worst Of Total Anarchy

Killed by 9V Batteries release a new single for the summer months. We’ve never heard the Batts sounding this relaxed and layed back. Those synths by producer Patrick Pulsinger are broad as a cliché beach and as the song fades out you even hear the waves gently rushing to the shore.

The video to “Worst of Total Anarchy” by Hannes Staudenbacher and Horst Bilek premiered at the Vienna Independent Shorts Festival and features Sex Jams’ bassist Florian Seyser in lingerie. :-)

New single Impulse Control by Killed by 9V Batteries

News from Austrian noisepop-slackers KILLED BY 9V BATTERIES. “IMPULSE CONTROL“ is the promising forerunner to their upcoming album “THE CRUX“ due in autumn. In cooperation with musicmag TONSPION the song is now available as free download.
It came as a surprise when viennese techno pioneer and producer Patrick Pulsinger (Hercules & Love Affair) approached the four guys from rural Styria to tweak and redefine their very own “Neuhass”-sound for the 3rd studio album. The first single ”IMPULSE CONTROL” the Batts are feeding all those nerds crowding the planet still hungry for the old days of Subpop and AmRep outfits, virtuously spiced up with a knack for contemporary bands like Male Bonding, No Age and Japandroids.

The young Wolfgang Heribert Möstl is a master of strings, keys and vocals in all styles and forms. He is part of Killed By 9V Batteries, Sex Jams, Zuchthaus and some other outfits. Mile Me Deaf is his soloproject, which reflects all these different styles and approaches focusing on the fundamental ingredients of popmusic. Rugged and fragile yet reduced and at the same time strong hymns for the hipster crowds – this is why we appreciate this venture!
Shortly, our friends at Fettkakao will release a fine 7” featuring the song “Mile Me Deaf”, where you can also watch this video on Youtube
